I can't believe an entire year has gone by without any blog posts! I think mom started posting all my pictures to facebook. We're going to try again this summer. Maybe mom will be able to figure out her phone for mobile blogging...

Snuggles with Luna

So, Luna and I weigh about the same now. We also both love to lay in the bed upstairs. Yesterday morning was the first morning of summer vacation, so we slept in. Daddy had to wake up to go to work. Usually, I sort of wake up, head upstairs to snuggle with mom. We sleep till about 9:30 or so. Well, I hear that mom thought that I went upstairs to snuggle with her. Usually, I snuggle up tight and sometimes put my arm around her. Mom felt the snuggling and she thought it was me. About an hour later she woke up enough to realize that it was Luna spooning her and not me! Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Luna was spooning mom with her head on daddy's pillow. Just like I usually do. That is the best story ever!

Silvia's Food Revolution

This last semester of school, I made mom pack me healthy lunches. I used to like the hot lunches at school...until mom made me watch Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution. I told all my teachers and friends at school about Jamie. I got a couple of my friends to bring their healthy lunches to school too. So everyday I have been eating whole grain bread, fresh fruit, some vegetables ( I mostly only like cucumbers) I love olives, but I'm not sure that is a vegetable???
I've learned to shop the perimeter of the store (which means produce, healthy foods aisle, bakery and dairy). Sometimes I want oreos, crackers and other types of junk foods...but mom and dad say no. Mom's easier to break...especially if I target her weakness: Potato Chips!
I help mom in the kitchen. I've gotten pretty good at chopping fruit and vegetables. I don't like to eat it all...but I do love to help cook.
I keep asking mom when Jamie will be back on TV. She tells me his show was only 6 episodes long and that we have to look him up on the internet. Jamie Oliver's website.

1.5 Days of preschool left

Who would have thought that my preschool career would come to an end so quickly? I'm signed up for a fun summer class and 3 weeks of Child Care...but, after that, I am off to Kindergarten. Summer vacation will be awesome. I am tired of waking up early and going to bed early. I want to stay up late and then sleep in. Mom loves to sleep in too. Poor dad...he doesn't get a summer vacation. I imagine that our days will be filled with trips to the library, zoo, Greenfield Village, friends, up north and hanging with the fam.
My uncle is getting married in a few days. I'm a flower girl. I will make sure that we post lots of pictures. A lot of our more recent pictures are posted on mom's facebook account. Her summer project is to help me keep my blog up.

My First Dance Recital

Here I am with my best friends at our 1st dance recital. We were beautiful ballerinas. Mom and dad said they were really proud of me during our performance. We worked for months on our ballet number. We also got amazing costumes. Aren't we adorable?

Mom made me pose for all sorts of pictures. But, secretly, I liked it. Shhhhhh.....

Chuck E Cheese Birthday Party

This past Saturday, I had 3 places to be. Mom said that I couldn't be at all of them...so I picked my friend Luke's bday party. We had to do a bit of schedule juggling and sleep over-ing, but it all worked out. I had a wonderful time at the party. Good friends, yummy cake and lots of games. I just love birthday parties.

Summer Reading Rocks!

So, the summer reading programs around here are amazing! Babbie took me to her library and they had like 30 animals and I got to go on a camel! For a summer reading kick-off!?! Mom said they didn't have anything like that when she was little. Well, hello...that was like eons ago. What does she expect?

Anyway, I can't wait to reach my reading goal. I want to read 50 books this summer. I am keeping track and I have already won 3 prizes from the library. Mom says I am a lucky girl.

Oh, and notice in the puppy picture my bracelets. They are all the rage right now. Silly Bandz are the most popular thing in kid world right now. EVERYONE has them. Mom read in the paper that some states are banning the bracelets because they cause such a distraction in school. Adults are so uptight. I'm glad that I have Silly Bandz and I love to share them.

Huron River Canoe Trip

Here we are taking a rest on our canoe trip. It was a nice day on the river and I spent it relaxing in the middle of the canoe.
Daddy was forced to do most of the work because mom can't steer a canoe. We ate chips and enjoyed beverages. Mom and I actually dressed the same that day. We were "twins."
Then we went back to Daddy's friends house for a BBQ. I had like 5 slices of watermelon. Yummy. We finished the day sunburn-free cause mom rocks and she makes us be careful.

Kindergarten Round Up

I got to go meet my Kindergarten teacher and see my classroom. I am so excited for Kindergarten to start. I even met two new friends. I got to ride on a bus, which was suuper cool. But then mom told me I would not be riding the bus to school. To make things worse, she will be dropping me off early everyday at school. Huge bummer becauses busses are really cool.

At the Farm

One of my favroite things about school is the field trips we get to take. Here is my whole class on a tractor ride. We toured the barn, saw all the animals and then rode around the farm. It was my last field trip with my preschool...mom thought that was a bit sad. I do love my friends. Five years of good times and now it's time to move on to Kindergarten.

Angie's Bridal Shower

I went on my 2nd visit to Port Huron to Angie's Bridal Shower. It was a really nice shower. I got to help open presents and I got to keep any and all the tissue paper, wrapping paper and ribbions that I wanted. It was a pretty venue...overlooking the St. Clair River. I love showers!

After the party we went outside to wander around. It was a beautiful day and the bridge was fun to look at.

My 5th Birthday comes and goes...

So, Mom and Dad thought that we should have a scaled down birthday party this year. I got to invite 5 friends and they came over for a traditional bday party. My theme was Curious George. I made a dramatic swing from my earlier princess theme idea. I invited a lot of boys and I didn't think they would love princesses. Everyone liked Curious George. Mom's friend, Sarah, came over to celebrate with me. She brought me the soundtrack from the movie, so we had cool music to go along with our theme. She also helped mom do just about everything. Sarah is the best :)
I loved all my presents and I had a great day.

Downtown Disney 2010

The best thing I did today was to get my face painted. I had been wanting to get my face painted for like 3 days and mom and dad finally paid for it. Took them long enough. But I LOVED it! When we got back to the room, I put on my Tinkerbell outfit to match my Tinkerbell makeup. It was awesome. That is how I was dressed for the rest of the day. Even at the arcade. The arcade was pretty sweet. All the games were on free play so we played as much as we wanted.

A Bug's Life play area

This play area was pretty cool. It was just like in the movie. Everything looked real and the slides were HUGE. We stayed in here for a while. Mom and Dad looked tired. After 8 hours, I was still going strong. Oh and then mom bought me a Mickey Mouse ice cream. It was delicious.

Hollywood Studios 2010

Day 2 found us at Hollywood Studios. We met up with Grandma and Grandpa and went on all the rides together. I went on the Tower of Terror again! That is one of the best rides ever. I am not sure if I like that one or Space Mountain better. Both are just awesome. Mom made me pose a lot for pictures. Here I am in "New York".

Mom and Dad say that I am a hard core party animal. I had fun at the Magic Kingdom until 1:30 am. It was cold. Cold enough for a hat and gloves in Florida *gasp*.
I conqured SPACE MOUNTAIN! I just barely met the height requirement...but I made it. After the ride, I gave a thumbs up. It was the BEST ride EVER!

We're staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We've seen some pretty cool views outside of our window. So far, we have seen: Ankole Cattle, White-Bearded Wildebeest, Roan Antelope, Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe and ostriches. It is way cool. Sort of like we are on safari in Disney World.

We had a pretty nice day at the Magic Kingdom. It was sunny and in the high 60s. Not quite tropical...but better than snow. We get Extra Magic hours tonight, so we will be at the Magic Kingdom until 3am. Or until we fall asleep. There were lots of people in the park today. Madness. But I went dressed as Tinker Bell and I went on most of my favroite rides. It's been a great day so far!

I am quite the ski bunny. Here is me enjoying the slopes. It was fun until I fell at the end. Then I wasn't quite as fearless. But in the end, I still had a good time. Now I just have to learn how to stop.

Christmas 2009

Christmas was great this year! We spent time with our families. Basically, Christmas was like 4 days. First, we hung out with Babbie and Dedo, then we hung out with Grandma and Grandpa, then Nana came over to visit and then finally we got to see Great Grandma and Great Grandpa. It was a lot of visiting. I loved every minute of it. I also realized that I have a TON of cousins. My clan is HUGE.

Reindeer Run 2009

Mom and dad got a little crazy with the whole race thing. They decided to get me up really early on the first Saturday of break to go running in the ice cold weather. It was the first snow fall of the year and they thought it was a good idea to run a 5K. I keep telling everyone that the Olds are a bit loopy, but no one believes me. They signed me up for the KidsK (like 1K) so it was my first real race too. We had to follow the reindeer. I did really good. I was pretty happy when I crossed the finish line. Marek came to cheer us on. He's the best uncle!

Santa comes to school

I had a great time Trick or Treating this year. I got a ton of candy and we didn't even leave our street. I was sort of done after 20 minutes. The bag was so heavy I could barely carry it. My friend Sarah came to walk with me. She's lots of fun. She works with mom. I should have gotten a picture with her....
Nana came too. Her doggie had on a super cute costume and I didn't get a picture of that either. I need to do a better photography job :)

Team wii not fit

Here is out 5K team at WMU's Campus Classic race. I was part of the cheering section and mom and dad said that I did a good job. It was the first time that mom ever ran in a race. She did a pretty good job. Finished in about 30 minutes and didn't stop :) Go mom!

Princess Tea Party

I went to a Princess Tea Party with my friends. We had so much fun. It was quite magical. I dressed up as Snow White. The tea party was in a hotel ballroom. As we were leaving the party, I noticed that the Harlem Globetrotters were staying at the same hotel. That was pretty cool. Too bad I didn't get to say hi to them. I just saw their bus.

Canoing down the Huron River

Yesterday, we went canoing with Mike and Molly down the Huron River. I just hung out in the middle, while mommy and daddy did all the work. They looked pretty tired afterwards. We had a perfect fall day. Although, since they were working so hard to make the canoe go...we didn't get a lot of pictures. This is it. Hopefully Molly got a better picture of us.

Hallowe'en Nights at Greenfield Village

Here we are trick or treating in Greenfield Village. Kayla's mom organized the evening for us and it was really nice. Well, fun nice. Not weather nice. It was cold and it rained the whole time. But the plan was to go rain or shine. We were going no matter what :) In the Village they had all the sidewalks lined with jack o' lanterns and people were dressed up in costumes. It was really cool.

I met up with Jen and Todd at the Zoo because they were having a special day for brain tumor survivors. Jenny got me a special lemonade, introduced me to her doctors and then we walked around for a couple of hours. It was a nice day and I am glad we got to enjoy it together.

We went to the Shipwreck Museum in Alpena, MI this summer with Grandma and Grandpa. There was so much for me to do there. Mom and I crawled through a tunnel system and then I got to steer a Great Lakes Sailboat. It was raining and thundering. I was an awesome Captain! I would never let my ship go down in Lake Huron.

Woofstock 2009

Brian and Kelly invited us to Kalamazoo for the weekend. While we were there we went to Woofstock 2009 in downtown Kalamazoo. There were people and dogs everywhere. Craziness.

Here I am creating a science experiment. Mom and dad bought me a "Build Your Own Arctic World" set. We made 3 glaciers...it took all night. When they were finally ready, I put on my safety goggles and took them outside. We made snow (that came out of a weird package and grew) and I swirled the glaciers around and watched them melt. I love my science goggles.

Here is Kayla's birthday party. It was so much fun. We made princess crowns, dug for buried treasure and then went outside on the splash pad. It sure was a lot of fun. We spent the whole afternoon walking around the Magnificient Mile. I didn't buy anything. Mom wouldn't let me go into the American Girl store. She said that I already had a doll with the same dress as me. But we ate dinner in the Water Tower and I stuffed myself.

We rode the bus down there and took my first taxi ride back to Chris's place. There were lots of tall buildings to look at.

Lincoln Park Zoo Day

Today we spent the day at the Lincoln Park Zoo. The giraffes were the coolest according to daddy. There was an ostrich in there too. I was most fascinated by the sparrow that flew into the exhibit :P

Thank goodness the Olds brought the stroller because it sure was a lot of walking.

The warthogs sure were weird animals. Bordering on the ugly. Not at all like in The Lion King.

Our morning started out with us being Techno-geeks. I have to convince the Olds that I need a iTouch. I really like playing games on them. That is my mission.

We decided to spend part of our day at Navy Pier. We went there by train. It was my first time on public transportation in the city. I did good. Then we walked around, took pictures and rode the GIANT ferris wheel. I like looking at the big buildings.

Rhythm Gymnastics

Last night was a great night! We met one of my best friend's at Cranbrook for some fun. We saw a Mastadon, played with blocks, looked at rocks and gems, played with cool stuff and then went on a nature walk. Good thing our Olds were up for it.

We went into a real wigwam. It smelled like smoked ham, so we held out noses. We looked silly, but it was worth a couple of giggles. I can't wait to get together again.

We start a garden!

Mom and I went to see Motzie-Poo at Kmart. While we were there, we bought some cucumber, onion and sunflower seeds. Mom promises to do a better job with the garden this year because I want cucumbers. We just have to find a way to keep the bunnies from eating our food. Damn bunnies.

Easter 2009!

After enduring a 3 hour mass (on Saturday), I got some Easter treats on Sunday. I would have actually liked to have more candy, but I guess you can't be too picky when the Easter Bunny comes to leave treats.

The Easter Bunny did a really good job hiding all the real and plastic candy filled eggs in the living room. I asked mom why we didn't have an Easter Egg hunt outside and she didn't really have a good answer.

The Zoo at Easter!

We went to the zoo the day before Easter with Chris and the place was mobbed! Chris spoiled me with cotton candy. Mom posed uncomfortably with a Dinosaur that was petting her head. And I missed the Polar Bear swimming over my head! At least mom got a good shot with the camera. I made a Easter craft there too. It's a really pretty foam egg that was fun to make.

Kayla invited me to her park for a marshmallow drop. This helicopter came by and dropped 100s of marshmallows. We had to find one and then we got a Easter Prize. It was sooooo cool to see the helicopter flying by. Victory was ours! (with a little help from Kayla's mom).

A Rockin' Party for Jen

We went to a party for Jen because we all love her! She was very surprised. I, of course, was the first to give her a hug and I wanted to hang out with her the whole time. Mom said "no," again. (she's always saying no).

Because of this party, Jen and gang are planning a trip to Ireland sometime next year. I'm jealous. Hopefully Babbie will let me stay with her and we'll have our own party. Mom was like the paparazzi again. She had to take pictures of everyone. Maybe daddy should buy her an SLR camera or something.

Princess Tea Party

I was invited to a Princess Tea Party for my friend Charlotte's 4th birthday party. Everyone showed up in princess dresses or party dresses. We had princess crafts that turned out really pretty and a princess feast. It was a great time. Easter Egg Hunt 2009

My friend Olivia invited me to her house for a play date and an Easter Egg Hunt. It was raining so a lot of people didn't show up...so we got TONS of eggs. We ran around like crazy filling up our bags full of easter eggs. At the end we got a prize and a picture with the Easter Bunny! I had a lot of fun that day.

Mom signs me up for soccer

Mom tells me that I am going to love playing soccer. She got me a soccer outfit and I start next week. Here we are practicing. Luna kept getting in the way. She wanted to catch the ball and run away with it. It was sehr annoying.

Mom and dad said that I did a GREAT job kicking and passing the ball. They were very proud of me. Isn't my outfit cute?

I've been helping daddy out in the garage a lot lately. We go out there to "fix" things and to "test" things. Here is me "testing" the boat. Mom thinks daddy just likes to go out to the garage to "work" on pretending to be on a lake somewhere.

We also had a notable conversation at the dinner table today. Daddy thought my hands looked dirty.

He said, "Silvia, did you wash your hands today?"

I said, "Yes."

Daddy said "are you telling the truth?"

I said, "You're not the Tooth Fairy!"

My 4th Birthday Party

I had the biggest birthday bash ever! (Mom said to savor the moment because next year's will not be a big party.) All my friends from school were there and lot of my cousins came. My friends brought way more presents than Santa brought me for Christmas!

We had pizza, cake, ice cream, pop and tons of tokens. I went on just about every ride at Chuck E Cheese. The Olds looked a bit overwhelmed. But us kids were in heaven!

Mom says I have to be thankful that I have such good friends. I love all my friends and I'm glad they came to celebrate my birthday with me.

I'm not actually 4 until Saturday. I can hardly stand it.

Hollywood Studios 09

Our final day at the park was spent at Hollywood Studios. We saw the Stunt Car show, Indiana Jones show, went on the Star Wars ride and ate some junkfood. My most impressive feat was surviving the Tower of Terror. I was big enough to ride it. Mom kept asking me if I was scared and I said "no". I didn't even scream as we were being dropped 20 stories on a broken elevator. Mom just thinks I was stunned by the speed. The only rides I wasn't allowed to go on was Space Mountain and the Aerosmith Roller Coaster.

This was the end of our fun as we had to gear up for the 20 HOUR ride home. Ugh. I made it though.

Relaxing day at Cocoa Beach

Mom has been trying for 7 years to get to the Kennedy Space Center. We've made it as far as Cocoa Beach. The sun was shining, the water was warm-ish, tons of toys, drink and shell gathering. The waves were huge! I wasn't allowed to go in the water by myself they were so big. I saw a giant bird. It was cool.

Epcot 09

Our day at Epcot was a bit chillier than the other days (about 68ish), but beautiful and sunny. I got to go on Soarin' and that was the most awesomest ride I have ever been on! It was the first time I got to go on a big girl ride! Mom and dad were pretty happy not to have to do a rider-switch. I also went on Test Track. That was cool.

When we got to the Worlds' - I fell asleep in Canada. Couldn't help it....I was most exhausted. We stayed for the fireworks and it was a good show.

Downtown Disney 09

We alternated park days. One day at the park, one day of rest at the pool. It was an agreeable arrangement for everyone. On our pool day, we went to Downtown Disney after dinner for some shoppy-time. I was so happy when mom bought me a Tinkerbell Doll. I also got some Legos because the boys were getting Legos.

I gave the Princesses hugs. I love them.

Magic Kingdom 09

I had intended to blog from Disney World...but we just got way too busy. After 18 hours in the car, we were ready to rest and then face a entire day at the Magic Kingdom. It was a warm, beautiful day and we got to go on just about all the rides we wanted.

We were party animals. We get Extra Magic Hours at certain parks on certain days and this particular night, the Magic Kingdom was open until 3am. We went back to our room at 2am but part of that was spent sleeping in the stroller.

The Olds all got to go on ALL the rides. My favroite ride is the Goofy roller coaster. We had lots of fun meeting the characters :) I didn't get to meet a princess though. Mom told me to wait until next time...

I'm a ski bunny

Daddy took it upon himself to take me skiing. I had so much fun!!!

Dad said I went balls to the wall down the hill. It's true, I have no fear. I started on the smallest hill and went down it a few times. I leaned forward in "french fry" position and hoped that daddy would catch me (he did). Then I went down the slightly bigger hill...used the magic carpet to go up. Then I wanted to go up the even bigger hill using the tow rope. Daddy drew the line at the tow rope. He said I needed more experience. He did have to run pretty fast down the bunny hill to keep up with me. Daddy got sweaty and took off his jacket. Mommy laughed. I can't wait to go skiing again.

We went on the Niagara SkyWheel! It was the biggest Ferris Wheel I have ever been on. Thankfully it was heated on the inside and we could see the whole city and the Falls. All 6 of us got to go in one car, so that was fun too.

Niagara Falls!

Niagara Falls was amazing! I loved watching the water fall and touching/licking the ice on the railing (which I was not supposed to do). Mom took us on the Behind the Falls tour. We went down in an elevator and then looked at the Falls from behind. It was super cool. It was definitely cold...so I am glad we bundled up. Mom wore her new snowpants just like me :)

The Real New Years Celebration

I am officially a party animal. I stayed up well past midnight on New Year's Eve. I got to watch the fireworks over Niagara Falls, make snow angles, and scream along with the rest of the party animals. This was a pretty cool way to ring in the New Year! Happy Birthday to Mom & Happy 2009!

The Waterpark @ Niagara Falls

Daddy decided to plan a little getaway for New Year's Eve. My cousin Dylan came with me. Our first stop was the water park and it was HUGE! It was amazing. We had so much fun. AND they sold popsicles. We played and played and played. I was so hungry afterwards that I actually asked for a meal. Mom and dad went on a huge waterslide. I was too small to go on that. I went on the baby ones and I was not really a big fan of those. I liked the wave pool and splashing around in the play area. They did a big New Year's celebration at 10pm, so that we could go out and watch the fireworks over the Falls at midnight. That was a really good idea. So we actually celebrated twice.

Next stop: CHUCK-E-CHEESE!!

Mom and Dad were a little scared of Chuck-E-Cheese! They said it would be complete and total madness and they would have to buy a pitcher of beer to stay sane. But we went. Most of my cousins were there. Since it was like a Tuesday night....not that many people were there. Daddy gave me bunches of tokens and I got to play just about everything. I played Skee-Ball and earned some tickets. Mom likes Skee-Ball a lot too. It was definitely a busy day. First the zoo and then Chuck-E-Cheese. WooHoo!

After all the Christmas fun, it was time to be outside. It just happened to be a warm (ish) and sunny day, so mom thought we should go to the zoo. We had to get all bundled up and I went to go meet up with a friend. We spent a lot of time looking at the Christmas trees, penguins, seals, reptiles and birds. I went to a Christmas party that like a 100 of my cousins were at! My aunt had it all set up that all of us got to play a game with presents for prizes. That must have been the best game in the world. I was #4. Everytime my number was called, I got a present! I could have played this game all night.

Luna got a stuffed squirrel for Christmas. Boy was she excited! She took it and went to her "spot." It took her about a week to get the squeaker out. She is still tearing the squirrel up!

Nana and Ian come for Christmas Brunch

Just when I thought all the Christmas mayhem was over...Nana and Ian came over with more presents for me. I had a hard time keeping up with what to do next. We spent a long time laughing at pictures of daddy when he was little like me. Daddy was kind of cute when he was little.

Santa came Christmas morning

Wow! Did I hit the jackpot on Christmas. Mom and dad say that Santa went a bit overboard with presents. But I did get a big girl bed and tons of stuff to play with. Here is me with my new Incredible Hulk t-shirt. Mom said she had to balance out other stuff to princess stuff.

Grandpa and Grandma were over to spend Christmas morning with us. It was a very nice morning and I could hardly contain myself with all the presents.

We had a very busy Christmas season. Lot of people to see and lots of things to do. The party started on the 23rd because I had to stay the night at Babbie's since mom and dad were totally behind on everything. Mom swears they will be more organized next year.

I spend the coldest night outside

We decided to go to Greenfield Village for their Christmas Nights. It was 2º F (or -16º C). Dad thought mom and Jen were crazy for wanting to go. But he was a good sport and decided to freeze right along with the rest of us. Mom saw a friend that she works with. She was playing the fife.

Santa announced my name (you can see him behind us) and told me to be a good girl. We rode the Merry-go-Round, listened to Christmas Carols, went into some houses, saw Santa, watched ice skating and then when we were thoroughly frozen we went home. My toes hurt they were so cold. I'll be forever in debt to Jenny for bring hand and feet warmers.

I think this was the coldest night I have ever experienced in the 3.5 years of my life. We held out for a whole hour and half. I think my nose might have been frozen.
